New location for our Opportunity Shop

New Location: Next to our Church Hall at 10 Otakau Road

Map-StPaulsOur Opportunity Shop has operated very successfully for many years in the middle of the Milford shopping area.

We have always been fortunate to have a devoted team of willing helpers to operate and manage this shop. These helpers have given countless hours of faithful service in carrying out all the functions that are necessary in running a shop.

The funds generated by this shop form a vital part of the funds we need for the work of our Church. A large item of cost in running this shop has been the rental we have had to pay. It therefore made sense to explore the possibilities of siting the shop near our Church Buildings. It was found that by carrying out various alterations to our Church buildings we would have suitable space for our Opportunity Shop. Work to carry out these alterations has now been completed.

We therefore have a well fitted out and bright new shop which we are sure will please our many regular customers. The shop is well signposted and there is plenty of parking in the near vicinity. You will be amazed at the range of goods offered at very affordable prices.

Our New Comfortable Lounge and large deck

We have always tried within our limited resources to provide space for a wide range of activities.

Our hall is often used for young people's activities and other groups have therefore until recently needed to use the large foyer or the church for their activities.

Over the last year plans were prepared for some alterations and extensions to our property so as to greatly improve the facilities that we can offer. Contractors have recently completed these planned extensions and we now have a comfortable lounge which opens out onto a large deck. This lounge is on the north side of our property and is warm and sunny.

There is also a new gently sloping ramp which can be used to make it easier to access this new area from the footpath.

In order to finance these building alterations considerable efforts have been made to raise the necessary funds. Our Parishioners have been very generous. In addition our Church members have organised and have held many fundraising activities.
